St. Clare is also a collaboration with San Francisco's own Not for Sale, a creative and passionate organization working to end modern day slavery and the exploitation of vulnerable people worldwide. We share a passion for justice, opportunity and quality of life in which we can work together in the spirit of Francis and Clare with a precious agricultural and culinary treasure like coffee and the rare and unique social connectivity it cultivates.
We are partnering together in projects from Thailand to our own community here in the Bay Area. We working to source and develop coffees from the Akha Tribes in Northern Thailand alongside Not for Sale's education and development efforts among some of the world's most at-risk communities for human trafficking where boys and girls are sold for the sex industry in tourist hubs of Thailand. Here in the Bay Area we are working with the Not for Sale with skills and job training for survivors of trafficking and at-risk youth. You can also do good through simply purchasing our drinks and whole bean coffees knowing you are supporting these efforts as a portion of all sales are contributed to Not for Sale.
We encourage you to learn more about our wonderful partners and the work they are doing. Slavery doesn't look the same as it did 200 years ago but is sadly alive today in the 21st Century throughout the world from coffee farms in Brazil to the streets of Thailand and even in our own neighborhoods. But we can do something about it, even through how we enjoy our coffee.
